redesign, remodeling, or renovation, you have many options. However, many choices can be puzzling or even
stressful. Suppose you wish to alter or redesign aspects of your home, you can
follow these routes...
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
- If I have the knowledge or I’m willing to learn, I can try the DIY approach. Of course, this requires time and effort; while the end result isn’t guaranteed. However, it can be fun, provided you don't mind losing time and some money along the way.
- I may choose to work with an Interior Designer. Provided I understand thorough what an Interior Designer can or can’t legally do.
- I may choose to work with an Interior architect; a relatively new specialization, a hybrid field combining architecture and interior design. Which again necessitates an understanding of that profession.
- I may choose to work with an architect, a professional who has the most education, rigorous training and strict licensing standards of all designers. By the way, contrary to misconception, an architect’s fee is often in par with an interior designer’s.
- Last, I may just go to a builder and ask him/her to help. Not knowing perhaps that a builder usually isn’t one of the above professionals. By the way, most builders work in either of these two ways: They either have a licensed architect on staff, or they may have bought an architect’s plans and just copy them just about anywhere.

the above, it should be obvious that to get real design and aesthetics, you
need to consult a certified or licensed design professional. Of course, if you
wish to make structural or exterior modifications to your home, your choices
are limited; you have to consult a licensed architect. That simple…
